Lunch at Ridgeville or there about.

Short Gap to Cumberland- Rt 28 to the C&O.) This 4 or 5 miles is in traffic, with a paved shoulder. Not too bad, but we have to take care.

We ride 67 miles on Sunday. C&O visitor center is good.

Monday-September 18- 60 miles

Leave Cumberland 8:00 am. This is milepost 185 on the C&O towpath. We are hoping to be joined by Alex Kraus, Mark Moran, Beth and Trey Haley, and Tammy Campbell at this point. Alex and Mark for the day and Tammy for the rest of the trip. The path is dirt. Can get a little muddy in wet weather. It is nice flat riding though and to average 10 mph is not pushing it. The Paw Paw Tunnel is at MP 155, we should get there around 11:15. A light is nice, not absolutely necessary. 30 miles so far today.

Milepost 141 (Little Orleans) is lunch at Bill's (a trip highlight if it is still open)

Find the Western Maryland Rail Trail as soon as possible. Don't tell Dan.

Hancock at 4 pm. We are staying at the Best Value Hancock Motel Phone

Harpers Ferry about 3:00 pm. We have visited the Park or taken a swim. Brunswick about 4 pm. Bus will meet us. 10 miles to Mark's for those who want to ride it. (540-668-6680)The views along the Potomac are grand! Mark and Roxanne have agreed to host us again this year.

Wednesday-September 20 - 55 - miles

Leave White's Ferry 8:00 MP 35. It is a working ferry. The SAG will take us there.

Great Falls 2pm - MP 14

Georgetown- 2 pm -MP 1

Washington Monument-2:30

Beth & Rich's - 4 pm Shower and pizza.

Tom will meet us there.

If Dan leaves early in the trip, someone else will have to check Tod's driving on the way home.

Start home -6 pm

Weston - 1 am

We suggest a bike rack with a bag and/or panniers. We ride our mountain bikes. Most of us use our regular off-road tires. A computer for speed and distance is nice.

A camel back for water is necessary. The C & O has water and restrooms.

We are planning on t-shirts and Tom will be taking up money for food, and gas.
